It's July and we're in the middle of summer already. Time is flying and I thought I'd take a walk, to slow down and look and listen. We have a small park at the end of our block, a green oasis with lots of shade, a play area and half a basketball court. This leads to a longer series of hiking trails where it feels as if you're miles away from everything.
As I headed into the park I heard what sounded like a hawk. I followed the sound and saw there were two! They were hopping from branch to branch in a tree and didn't seem to mind me standing under them taking photos.
I was thrilled to get so close and to be able to see the variations and patterns in their feathers.
This video is the audio of the conversation between the two hawks and was taken with my phone. I stayed and watched until they flew away.
I continued along the path and took it slow and easy paying attention to the little things. This pod looked interesting - what do you see?
I love that I'm able to get away so close to home. The views and paths are cherished.
Please continue on and visit Kim Bajorek's beautiful blog here & wish her a happy birthday too (it's on the 20th)
Love that pod! Looks like a nest of little owl faces popping out! Glad you're able to enjoy such beauty so close to home!
