June brings a change in schedule from the hurried rush of school days to thoughts of rest and play. This week brought a wonderful opportunity when I met a new friend ~ one of those rare times when circumstances require an action plan to support a mutual friend. After having just met we talked and texted almost everyday until we found a day that worked to take a short road trip. I took the train from North Hollywood to Union Station where she picked me up and we drove to Oceanside together.
Since we were on a tight schedule I didn't have time to explore Union Station, I was only able to grab a couple of shots before my new friend picked me up. It was an easy trip and I'm planning my next available day to explore.
It was a gorgeous day and we had lunch outside.
After lunch we stopped at the Mission San Luis Rey and wandered the grounds.
Wonderful conversations about Love, Faith and Mystery.
June 10th was also my son's 16th birthday.
He finished his sophomore year of high school and played on stage with his guitar for the first time. He played with a band that practiced together for the last two months of school and they were great. We're looking forward to many more rest and play days this summer.
