December 10 on 10: Holidays

To jump start our holiday spirit this month we spent a day last weekend at my family's annual tamale fest. I remember thinking this would be a great photo opportunity with all of my cousins and their gorgeous kids, good food and fun. The reality was that I was so caught up in visiting and enjoying myself that I only have two blurry shots on my phone to commemorate this day. My backup plan was to find a festive, pretty place to shoot for this month's 10 on 10. Looking online I found Pershing Square in downtown Los Angeles and their outdoor ice rink!

It was so pretty! So many lights and families enjoying themselves. This was an experiment for me as I haven't done any night photography in a long time. I brought my trusty tripod and my husband to carry it and experimented with different exposures. I have a lot to learn but I enjoyed myself in the trying.

Notice the kid wearing shorts. This is L.A. after all.

I loved the buildings, both old and new.

To make the trip more interesting we stopped at Philippe's. Family owned since 1908 and in this location since 1951 it's
been a place we wanted to try. It was really good!

I started with this 10 on 10 group in January and I've published ten posts this year. I'm very grateful for the lovely Kim Bajorek for inviting me and everyone else for the support and encouragement. Wishing you all a beautiful holiday season filled with joy!

Please follow the circle and see Laura Bastien's post - you're in for a treat!
